Abstract

Bismuth molybdate (Bi 2 MoO 6 ) nanoparticles with the size of 10 nm were prepared on NaY type zeolite by the impregnation with Bi(NO 3 ) 3 and (NH 4 ) 6 Mo 7 O 24 solution and subsequent calcination at different temperatures. The mechanism of the formation of Bi 2 MoO 6 nanoparticles on NaY type zeolite is discussed based on the adsorption data at various temperatures. The photocatalytic activities of the Bi 2 MoO 6 /NaY (BM) were evaluated by the degradation of methyl orange (MO) in aqueous solution under visible light irradiation.
