Abstract

NiMn alloy nanowires with various Mn contents were electrodeposited inside the nanochannels of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template from chloride bath. According to the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs, the nanowires exhibited diameter of about 60 nm and aspect ratio of more than 33. X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the nanowires had FCC structure with preferred orientation of < 111>. The soft magnetic properties of electrodeposited nanowires were measured by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). It was found that by synthesis of NiMn in the shape of nanowires, the magnetic properties were relatively increased. It was also observed that the magnetic parameters such as coercivity and saturation magnetization were decreased by increasing the amount of manganese.
