Abstract

New Schiff base macrocycles, 1, 4, 7, 10-tetrsaza-2, 3dioxo-5, 6, 11, 12-bis(l'-phenyl-2′,3′-dimethylpyrazole)dodece-7, 10-diene(L1), 1, 4, 7, 11-tetraaza-2, 3-dioxo-5, 6, 12, 13-bis(l'-phenyl-2′,3′-dimethylpyrazole) trideca-7, 11-diene (L2),and their Cr(III), Mn(II). Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes have been synthesized and charecterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, electronic and ingrared spectroscopy. The ligands have been chamcterized by IR and 1H NMR measurements. The complexes were characterized by IR, UV-Vis spectra and magnetic moments. Moler conductsnce showsthe non-electrolytic behaviour of the divalent metal complexes while the trivalent metal complexes appear to be 1:1 electrolytes. An octahedral geometry has been proposed for all the complexes.
