Abstract

The present work describes the preparation of MgO nanoparticles (MgO/NPs) by co-precipitation method using CTAB/MgO nanoparticles (CTAB/MgO/NPs) and TX-100/MgO nanoparticles (TX-100/MgO/NPs) surfactant. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS techniques. The prepared MgO/NPs, CTAB/MgO/NPs, and TX-100/MgO/NPs were used as the modifier for the carbon paste electrode (CPE). The TX-100/MgO/NPs modified CPE (TX-100/MgO/MCPE) showed the excellent electrocatalytic activity, sensitive and selective determination of paracetamol (PA) in the presence of adrenaline (AD) by cyclic voltammetric (CV) and differential pulse voltammetric techniques (DPV). The effect of scan rate, pH and simultaneous determinations of PA, AD and FA were achieved with well separated peaks. The concentration study was recorded, good linearity with obtained LOD and LOQ were found to be 6.2 μM and 20.9 μM for PA respectively, and 8.4 μM and 28.2 μM for AD, respectively. DPV method used for determination of PA in the presence of interfering species, including AD and FA. The modified method electrode was analysed for the determination of PA in a real sample analysis.
