Abstract

Mesoporous aluminas with very large pore size (up to 250 Å) have been prepared from aluminum isopropoxide in the presence of Pluronic F127 and controlled amounts of water and alcohol under hydrothermal conditions. The materials obtained do not exhibit long-range order, but are made of corrugated platelets, and the textural properties obtained are very interesting for potential applications in catalysis. In this work, the catalytic performance in the Fischer–Tropsch synthesis was evaluated, and in our conditions, a pore size effect has been evidenced which corroborates our earlier findings.
