Abstract

Fe3O4@TiO2 magnetic nanocomposite was synthesized and doped by Ag and Cu to preparation of heterogeneous photocatalyst Fe3O4@TiO2/Ag,Cu (FTAC). The characterization of synthesized nanocatalyst was carried out by the Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM) and transmission electron microscopy (SEM). In order to investigate the photocatalytic activity, the photodegradation of rhodamine B (RhB) was carried out in aqueous solution under visible light irradiation. The obtained results were shown that the Ag and Cu doped nanoparticles has considerable synergistic effect and cause to increase the photocatalytic activity of synthesized nanocomposite. The mechanism investigation had discussed in detail. Easy separation, high efficiency, excellent stability in the photocatalysis process and reusability of catalyst without any loss in its efficiency are from main advantageous of the nanocatalyst (FTAC).
