Abstract

Abstract Mixed ligand complexes of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) with acetylacetone as a primary ligand and imidazole or substituted imidazole as a secondary ligand were synthesized and characterized by microchemical analyses, conductance, electronic and infrared spectral measurements. It is concluded that the acetylacetonate ligand coordinates to the metal ion as a monovalent bidentate ligand while the imidazole or substituted imidazole coordinates to the metal ion as a monodentate ligand.
