Abstract

The mesomorphous complex of poly(acrylic acid) and cationic surfactant as templates are widely used to prepare hierarchically meso-structured materials. Here, the effects of different cationic surfactant in complexes on the morphology and nano-structure of the mesoporous silica materials were studied. It was found chain length of hydrophobic tail significantly affected the meso-structure. With the increase of the chain length, three different of meso-structure of disordered, 3-dimentional cubic ordered, 2-dimentional hexagonal could be achieved. Significantly, the hierarchically mesoporous silica nanoparticles (50–100 nm) with 2-dimentional hexagonal meso-structure (P6mm) were firstly obtained in polymer-surfactant synthetic system.
