Abstract

AbstractNanorods of GaO(OH)–FeO(OH) composites are synthesized using green hydrothermal synthesis route. The prepared oxyhydroxide nanorods were characterized using X ray diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy, and low temperature (5 K) high magnetic field (5 T) Mossbauer spectroscopy. It is observed that hydrothermal synthesis route yields phase pure nanorods with crystallite size in nano-regime. Morphology is homogenous and non-agglomerating. From Mossbauer analysis, different iron sites with +3 oxidation state and high magnetic anisotropy are evident.
