Abstract

AbstractIn this study, a symmetrical pillar[5]arene derivative containing ten quinoline groups was prepared. The synthesis detail is given below as a scheme. Here, pillar[5]arene and quinoline derivatives are connected to each other with triazole ring bridges by using the classical “click” reaction realized with copper(II) sulfate catalysis. While preparing the target product, 1,2-dichloroethane solvent was used while forming the main skeleton of the intermediate product and pillar[5]arene. While preparing the alkyne-terminated quinoline derivative, it was prepared in dichloromethane solvent medium by using triethylamine. Click reactions to be used while obtaining the target products were carried out in an ethanol/water/chloroform mixture with vigorous mixing. Column chromatography was used for purification at all reaction stages. All intermediate and final products obtained after purification processes are analyzed by FT-IR, NMR, mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, etc. The characterization processes were carried out using the methods.KeywordsPillar[5]areneQuinolineClickSynthesisCharacterization
