Abstract

The purpose of this work was to establish the possibility of implementing tautomeric forms of arylmethylenbis-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-ones where heterocyclic fragments can act as ligands when complexing with copper(II) acetate. The ligands were characterized via NMR and quantum chemical means. The 1H NMR spectra obtained for the ligands in acetone solution indicate that they exist primarily in the dienol tautomer form. The NMR spectra of ligands in low-polar solvents and quantum chemical computations also confirm these results. Using this data, we synthesized copper complexes with aforementioned ligands and characterized them via NMR, quantum chemical and thermogravimetric methods.
