Abstract
The reaction of diarylditellurides with diazomethane was used to prepare 7 new bis(aryltelluro)methanes, ArTeCH 2TeAr. These compounds were characterized by their 1H, 13C NMR and IR spectra and elemental analysis. The 13C NMR spectra of the corresponding ditellurides are published for the first time. The influence of the tellurium atoms upon the chemical shifts of the methylene group correlate for 1H and 13C NMR spectra.
