Abstract

The current study concerns with the synthesis of anthraquinone analogs involving the reaction of 2- chloro 5-amino anthraquinone and methylation. Toluene and potassium carbonate (K2CO3) were used to obtain the target molecule (TM). The obtained products were colorless crystals. The yield of the product was found to be ~ 81%. The product so obtained was characterized by IR and 1H NMR. Finally, these molecules were found to exhibit antiinflammatory and anti-oxidant property.
