Abstract

AbstractA one‐pot reaction is used in the creation of a novel skeleton by using pyrene and the five‐membered imidazole ring as the key units. The two new compounds show high thermal stability. Deep‐blue emissions are observed in solution for both compounds, which have a strong tendency to aggregate into thin films and a tendency to crystallize as powders. These properties are indicative of their potential application in organic electronic devices.
