Abstract

A novel Coordination polymer, [{Er 4(μ 3-OH) 4 (bpdc) 4(H 2O) 6} 2] (H 2O) 16.5 ( 1) was obtained by hydrothermal reaction. The cubane-like [Er 4(μ 3-OH) 4] 8+ as building block, it was further assembled into two-dimensional network structure through the linkage of 2,2′-bipyridine-3,3′-dicarboxylate (bpdc) with four different coordination modes. The magnetic property of the compound was discussed further.
