Abstract

The reaction of CdCl 2 with bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amino-4-butyric acid (Hpmab) leads to the formation of binuclear complex [(Hpmab)(Cl)Cd II(μ-Cl) 2Cd II(Cl)(Hpmab)] ( 1). Complex 1 can be regarded as two distorted octahedrons sharing the basal edge that contain the bridging chloro ligands, in each of which resides at a center of inversion. Cyclic voltammetry of 1 gives one oxidation and two reduced processes.
