Abstract
A family of melt processable, wholly-aromatic thermotropic liquid crystal copolyesters are prepared, which are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy. The copolyesters exhibit broad nematic-mesophase temperature ranges without isotropic transitions and excellent thermal stability. The kinetics of melt polycondensation of the copolyesters is also investigated.
