Abstract

Ceramic nanoparticulate bolstered metal matrix composites have shown tremendous potential in several fields of engineering thanks to their high wear resistance, thermal stability and strength to weight quantitative relation. In the gift study, AA6063 aluminium alloy reinforced with 1, 1.5 and a couple of weight proportion of nano silicon carbide particulate (SiCp) composites were fabricated using the ultrasonication assisted casting method. A new generation of material that has the potential of satisfying the recent demands of advanced engineering applications is Aluminum metal matrix composite. Al-MMNCs are widely used in automobile industries, aircraft, structural applications, and many other defence fields. It was remarked that the addition of nano-sized SiCp particles with aluminium alloy matrix provides superior mechanical and physical properties and interfacial characteristics of nanocomposites. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was employed to study the dispersion characteristics of the Al-MMNCs. Besides, this paper reviews different production techniques and mechanical properties of Aluminum alloy/SiCp based metal matrix nanocomposites.
