Abstract

1. Esterification of glycine toluene-p-sulfonate with 2-hydroxyethyl butyl sulfide followed by diazotization of the resulting aminoacetic ester has given the novel 2-butylthioethyl diazoacetate. 2. Thermocatalytic decomposition of 2-butylthioethyl diazoacetate with a mixture of Cu and CuSO4, at 110°C in the presence of 1,1-dichloro-4-methylpenta-1,3-diene has given butylthioethyl permethrinate.
