Abstract

New solid AsI3-urotropine complex, AsI3(C6H12N4)2, was synthesized. The crystal structure of the complex belongs to triclinic system with the lattice parameter: a = 9.737, b = 11.769, c = 19.874 A, α = 96.69°, β = 96.69°, γ = 100.36°. The far-infrared spectra show the bonding between the arsenic ion and N atom of urotropine. The TG-DTA and 1H NMR data also demonstrate the complex formation between the arsenic ion and urotropine. The results of the biologic tests of the complexes of arsenic show that the biologic effect of these complexes of arsenic to leukemia cell (HL-60) is higher than arsenic only by MTT colorimetric assay. This fact also shows that the coordinated ligand might make biologic effect increase.
