Abstract
This paper investigates the antioxidant and antibacterial applications of new fusedimidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidin- 5(6H)-one, imidazo[2,1-i]purine,andimidazo[2,1-b]purin-4(5H)-one synthesized by the reaction of a-bromoacetophenone with nucleobases (adenine, guanine, and cytosine). The newly synthesized compounds were structurally confirmed using spectral studies and elemental analysis. All the products were screened for their antioxidant capacity by applying the methods of scavenging free radicals (ABTS and DPPH). The antibacterial activity was examined against three bacterial strains: Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC-27853), Escherichia coli (ATCC-25922), and Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC-25923)..
