Abstract

The synthesis of silver nanoparticles and some metallic nano particles is emerging area of research in the field of science and technology due to their potential application especially in the field of biotechnology and biomedical sciences. In this study silver nano particles were synthesized from Penicillium madriti (MTCC2804) by extracellular method. The change in colour of the solution indicated the formation of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were further confirmed by uv-vis spectrophotometry, Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM). The antibacterial activity of these nano particles were tested against various pathogenic bacteria like E coli, Staphylococcus auras, Klebsiella, Vibrio cholerae and Proteus vulgaris. After this these nanoparticles have been compared with ofloxacin and sparfloxacin.
