Abstract

AbstractThe reaction of CuOAc (OAc = acetate) with TiCl4·2thf and LiSPh in thf leads to the formation of tiny deep‐red crystals of [Li(thf)4]2[Ti2Cu8S4(SPh)10]. The silver/titanium cluster complex [Ti2Ag6S6Cl2(PPhiPr2)6] was synthesized by the reaction of TiCl4·2thf with AgPhCO2 and S(SiMe3)2 in the presence of PPhiPr2. The crystal structures of the compounds were determined by X‐ray analysis of single crystals. Additionally, theoretical investigations were performed to assign the proper chlorine/sulfur atomic positions and to rationalize the bonding situation in 1 and 2. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
