Abstract

Three new coordination polymers (CPs) with main formulas [Mn2(DMSO)2(HL)] (1), [Mn10(DMA)(H2O)9(L)4·2DMA] (2) and [Mn4(DMA)4(HL)2] (3) (H5L = 3,5-bis(3,4-dicarboxypenxoy) benzoic acid, DMA = dimethylacetamide), have been prepared and characterized. An initial search for reciprocal space exposed that 1 has monoclinic space group with C2/c point group. The CPs 2 and 3 have triclinic space group with P-1 point group. The CPs 1–3 are stable by intra molecular H-bonding interaction. The photocatalytic properties revealed that 1 could effectively photodegrade drugs with nitrofurazone (NFZ), ornidazole (ODZ),chloroamphenicol (CAP) and sulfamethoxazole (SMT) when compared to the degradation efficiency of 2 and 3. The active species involved in the degradation of ODZ has been assessed using trapping experiments.
