Abstract

Fischer type carbene complexes of molybdenum, tungsten and rhenium form in topospecific reactions with the surface chro-mium(II) atoms of the reduced Phillips Catalyst heteroge-neous, bimetallic metathesis catalysts. The reactions proceed presumably by 2+1 cycloadditions of the metal carbene double bonds to the surface chromium (II) atoms to give surface bound dimetallacyclopropane derivatives.
