Abstract
Two coordination polymers, namely [Zn3(PBDC)3(4,4′-bipy)]n (1) and [Co(PBDC)(4,4′-bipy)0.5]n (2) have been prepared via hydrothermal reactions of metal(II) nitrates with 1,4-bis(4-phenoxy)benzenedicarboxylic acid (H2PBDC) and 4,4′-bipyridine. Both complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), powder X-ray diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structure analyses reveal that complex 1 possesses a (3,4,6)-connected 3D topology with point symbol of {4·92}2{42·68·8·92·102}{95·10}, while complex 2 has a 3D 4-fold interpenetrating framework with point symbol of {412·63}. In addition, the luminescent property of complex 1 and magnetic property of complex 2 were also studied.
