Abstract

1. From 2,5-thiophenedicarboxaldehyde and its monoacetal a number of symmetrical and unsymmetrical derivatives of 2,5-thiophenebismethylamine were prepared, respectively. 2. The yields of aliphatic amines obtained by the reductive desulfurization of amines of the thiophene series rise as we pass from secondary to tertiary amines, and also when the N-alkyl groups are lengthened.
