Syntheses and structural characterization of two novel oxygen bridged dinuclear Mo-complexes containing bdmpza as ligand, trans-[Mo 2O 5(bdmpza) 2] and trans-[Mo 2O 3(NCS) 2(bdmpza) 2] · 4CH 3CN

Abstract

Mixtures of (picH)[Mo(NCS) 4(pic) 2]/Hbdmpza and (P(C 6H 5) 4) 2[MoO(NCS) 5]/Hbdmpza or K 3[Mo(NCS) 6]/Hbdmpza (pic = 4-methylpyridine, Hbdmpza = bis(3,5-dimetylpyrazol-1-yl) acetic acid) were refluxed in acetonitrile. By air-oxidation of solutions, trans-[Mo 2O 5(bdmpza) 2] ( 1) compound containing dinuclear Mo 2 O 5 2 + core, and trans-[Mo 2O 3(NCS) 2(bdmpza) 2] · 4CH 3CN ( 2) complex containing dinuclear oxo-bridged Mo 2 O 3 4 + fragment, have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography.
