Abstract
The reaction between Ru 3(μ-H){μ 3-C 2CPh 2(OH)}(CO) 9 and HCCPh, carried out in the presence of HBF 4 · Me 2O, afforded the cluster complexes Ru 3(μ-H)(μ 3-CPh 2CCCCPh)(CO) 9 ( 5) and Ru 3{μ 3-CPhCHCC(CPh 2)CHCPh}(μ-CO)(CO) 8 ( 6), both of which were characterised by single-crystal X-ray studies.
