Abstract

Abstract (Benzoyloxy)-and (pentafluorobenzoyloxy)diphenylphosphanes RC(O)OPPh2 (2a, b) [R = C6H5 (a), C6F5 (b)] can be obtained by reaction of ClPPh2 (1) with NaO2CC6H5 and AgO2CCeF5, respectively [eq. (1)]. Oxidation of 2a with molecular oxygen yields (benzoyl-oxy)diphenylphosphane oxide (3a) [eq. (2)]. The complexes (OC)5CrPPh2OC(O)R (5a, b) are formed by the action of Na2OCC6H5 and AgO2CC6F5, respectively on (OC)5CrPPh2Cl (4) [eq. (3)]. The chemical and spectroscopical properties of the (aroyloxy)diphenylphosphanes (2 a, b) are compared with the corresponding aryldiphenylphosphane oxides.
