Abstract

Starting with poly(dichlorosilylene-co-methylene) (SiCl 2CH 2) x the synthesis of new poly(dialkylsilylene- co-methylenes) was achieved by the Grignard method. The oligomeric products of the general composition (SiR 2CH 2) x (with R  CH 3, C 2H 5, C 3H 7, C 4H 9, C 5H 11 and C 6H 13) were characterized by IR, 1H, 13C and 29Si NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The number and weight averages M n. and M w were determined by gel permeation chromatography.
