Abstract
Copolymers bearing benzodithioate quaternary ammonium salts moieties are synthesized by reacting a supported dithioester with ammonium hydrogensulphide in a polar solvent. A preliminary study on models has led to the determination of the reaction parameters. The nucleophilic properties of the benzodithioate anion allow numerous possibilities especially chemical modification of the copolymer and grafting with or without cross-linking.
