AbstractCommercial Banking (MIC: 8.1 SIC: 6021 NAIC: 522110)Synovus Financial, with assets of $31.85 billion as of Dec 31 2006, is a registered bank‐holding company. Co. provides integrated financial services including banking, financial management, insurance, mortgage and leasing services through 40 wholly‐owned bank subsidiaries located in five southeastern states as of Dec 31 2006. Co. also provides electronic payment processing and related services through its 81.0% owned subsidiary, Total System Services Inc. (TSYS). TSYS provides its services to financial and nonfinancial institutions in the U.S. through its wholly owned subsidiary, TSYS Acquiring Solutions, L.L.C., and in Japan through its majority owned subsidiary, GP Network Corp.
