Abstract

This paper analyzes the characteristics of high velocity, dim targets, and aimed at these characteristics, the detection capability of low frequency(LF) radar(VHF, UHF band)and igh frequency(HF) radar(X band)is discussed. Because LF radar has a better detection capability, but its angular accuracy is poor, however, the HF radar has a high angular accuracy, thus a method of detecting high velocity, dim targets through sensor fusion of these two kinds of radar is proposed. Because RCS of the target is quite low in the HF region, in order to improve the SNR, a way of coherent integration which is suitable for high velocity targets is resented. This paper provides a structure of sensor fusion based on these two kinds of radar, and the specific procedure of synergy detection is discussed.
