Abstract

Interactions of two coupled bimolecular reactions proceeding with the line-of-centers and reverse line-of-centers models in a dilute gas are studied. The analytical results obtained from the perturbation method of solution of the Boltzmann equation are compared with the results obtained from the Nanbu-Babovsky Monte Carlo computer simulations. Synergistic effects resulting from nonequilibrium effects are observed. The increase of the rate constant of the slower chemical reaction can exceed 100%.
