Abstract

Abstract Protective foliar spray applications of the systemic fungicide benomyl (methyl 1-(butylcarbamoyl)-2-benzimidazolecarbamate) on mature peach trees (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch cv. Richhaven) demonstrated significant control of the perennial peach canker organism Cytospora leucostoma (Pers.) Sacc. When the growth retardant SADH (succinic acid-2,2-dimethylhydrazide) was applied with benomyl, increased activity against the canker organism was found. Bioassay of the leaf tissue also illustrated an increased benomyl activity when used in combination with SADH. No activity against Cytospora was found with stem section bioassays.
