Abstract

Our research work focussed on to evaluating the synergistic action of ethanolic extract and its formulations (F1 and F2) of Cinnamomum zeylanicum (ECZ) and Murraya koenigii (EMK) for antiobesity and anti-hyperlipidemic activity on the high-fat diet on wistar albino rats. In this research work, rats fed on high-fat diet produced hyperlipidemia (115.00 ± 1.36 mg/dL), which led to an gain in the body weight (215 g), the total cholesterol, triglycerides (166.0 ± 0.577 mg/dL), VLDL (33.20 ± 0.233 mg/dL), total bilirubin (3.280 ± 0.010 mg/dL) and subside the levels of HDL (41.0 ± 0.894 mg/dL) and also changes in albino rats body temperature. ECZ, EMK, and its formulation F1, F2 (200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg) indicated less in comparison to the HFD induced rats group. The result of the study reflected that ECZ, EMK, and its formulation F1, F2 showed antiobesity and anti-hyperlipidemic action depending on the dose. It was concluded that the ethanolic extract of C. zeylanicum, M. koenigii and its formulation F1, F2 possess antiobesity and anti-hyperlipidemic activity. It is drawn to conclusions, alcoholic extract of C. zeylanicum and M. koenigii and its formulation F1 and F2 possess antiobesity and anti-hyperlipidemic activity.
