Abstract
In the present work an attempt has been made to study the effect of three pesticides namely Metacid-50 (M), Kelthane (K), Dithane (D) and their combination on water, lipid, protein, calorific values and non-lipid content in a fresh water fish, Channa marulius (Ham.). Precent water, lipid, non-lipid, protein and calorific values (K.Cal/g) in control groups were respectively 71.76, 3.84, 24.39, 19.69 and 3.32 (K.Cal./g). Exposure of fishes for 24 and 48hrs. and in different doses of individual pesticide and their combination brought changes in different biochemical constituents and energy values in this animals. Statistical relationship have also been established between concentration of pesticides Vs body water and body lipid. The details have been discussed in this paper.. KEYWORDS :Proximate composition, Energy values, Pesticides, Fish.
