Abstract

Equations describing synchrotron oscillations in strong-focusing accelerators are deduced and solved. In deriving them it was taken into account that the accelerating field frequency is automatically connected with the magnetic field intensity. A general solution for oscillations both in the adiabatic and critical regions has been found, and respective integrals of motion have been obtained. It is shown that motion in the critical region may be simply represented by the «effective frequency» of oscillation. The paper investigates the influence of the fluctuations, ripples and noise of the frequency and amplitude of the accelerating voltage and magnetic field. Computation formulae are given for respective tolerances.
