Abstract

A bidirectional discontinuous-conduction-mode constant on-time variable-frequency control strategy for a three-phase interleaved dc–dc converter suitable for traction applications is proposed in this article. The strategy enhances the converter efficiency at low-power conditions, providing fairly constant efficiency over the entire power range, by synchronously controlling both the bottom and top switches of the three boost phases. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed approach on a 10-kW bidirectional interleaved boost converter.
