Abstract

The coordinated five-axis machine tools have been used to machine aerospace large thin-walled parts. Synchronization motion accuracy is important during mirror motion process. This paper develops a method for detecting the synchronous motion accuracy of this kind of system. By measuring the trajectory errors of two tool center positions corresponding to different tool lengths on both sides, the synchronization motion tool center point error and tool axis direction error can be calculated. Simulation and experiments are conducted to verify its effectiveness.
