Abstract

Ocular graft versus host disease is a common complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation affecting more than 40-60% of patients with chronic graft versus host disease. Common ocular structures affected include the eyelid, lacrimal gland, conjunctiva and cornea. Infiltration of the lacrimal glands and conjunctiva with T-cells leading to inflammatory-mediated dysfunction of the secretory epithelium is thought to contribute to its development.
