Abstract
I fully concur with the principal theme raised by Wang Jingyu on modern Chinese history 窶・his idea of the 窶賄evelopment and non-development of Chinese capitalism窶・ Although on the surface this idea is somewhat contradictory, it does grasp the pulse of modern Chinese economic history and so has profound theoretical significance.
