Abstract

High resolution electron microscopy and resonance Raman spectroscopy are used to assign annealed wurtzite CdSe nanocrystals to the C{sub 3v} point group. Deviations from spherical symmetry have spectroscopic consequences from this prototypical quantum dot system. 22 refs., 4 figs.
