Abstract

In expansion of the thermodynamic potential for a trigonal easy-plane antiferromagnet such as iron borate, FeBO3, magnetoelastic invariants of a higher order in the components of the deformation tensor and the antiferromagnetic vector with respect to those traditionally used were taken into account. Such invariants make it possible to describe new effects observed in iron borate crystals and composites based on them.
