Abstract

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and dispersed fluorescence (DF) spectra have been studied for clusters of 9,9′-bianthryl (BA) with acetone, diethyl ketone, and methyl–ethyl ketone. Two different kinds of clusters have been observed in clusters containing the symmetric ketones. One shows broad LIF and DF spectra which are characteristic to the polar excited state of BA. The other shows sharp LIF bands and short lifetime which indicate the absence of the electron transfer.
