Abstract

The equations of the self-dual SU(2) gauge fields in the $R$ gauge with a Euclidean metric are derived from a Lagrangian. The Lagrangian displays six symmetries of these fields. To each symmetry corresponds a divergence-free vector, one of them being dependent on the others. The nonsymmetric canonical energy-momentum tensor also has vanishing divergence. The conserved vectors and tensor are explicitly displayed. The Lagrangian is also exhibited from which the corresponding self-dual SU(3) gauge fields in the $R$ gauge may be derived.
