Abstract
In our visual culture, video artworks have become the focus of public attention by degrees, and semiotics has gradually revealed its importance in industries such as film, television, criticism, and creation. Therefore, the study of symbolism and metaphor in artworks has become a prime direction of public discussion and research. This study analyzes cases of video artwork and identifies symbolic and metaphorical connotations of art symbols. This study also discusses the applications and purposes of art symbols during the process of creation, and it explains the metaphorical contents of these symbols from a creative viewpoint with examples of some personal works.
