Abstract

In recent years, there has been rapid advancement in the field of Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET). In future, VANET communication will play a major role in enhancing safety and efficiency of the transportation system. If security is not provided in VANET, then it can results in obvious misapplication. Thus, security becomes an important issue in VANET. There are many security attacks like Sybil, Jamming, and Passive Eavesdropping, which can degrade the performance of VANET. So, it is necessary to have some preventive mechanism against these attacks. In this paper, our main focus is to protect the system from the Sybil attack and for this, we have proposed the complete system model. In this model, dynamic certificates generation technique is used to restrict the Sybil attack and the neighboring information are used to detect the Sybil node.
