Abstract

This work presents a fault recognition as well as a faulty phase categorization technique (FR and FPC) for the six-phase transmission line (SPTL) using symlet-4 wavelet-transform (SWT). This FR and FPC technique is applied to the currents measured at the first end of SPTL i.e. at B-1 to evaluate the SWT outputs. The SWT is authenticated on an SPTL-model designed in MATLAB and operated for special fault occurrences like inter-circuit faults (ICFs), cross-country faults (CCFs), and evolving faults (EFs) with varying fault inputs. Simulation outcomes corroborate that the SWT-based technique exactly recognizes ICFs, CCFs, and EFs in an SPTL by using only B-1 fault data.
